KOLKATA DURGA PUJO — UNESCO HERITAGE

In 2021, UNESCO inscribed Durga Puja in Kolkata on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The recognition celebrates a living tradition shaped by devotion, public art, craftsmanship and community participation across the city.

In collaboration with WRC Australia, Durga Pujo Panorama invites photographers to document celebrations across Kolkata and rural West Bengal. The programme combines cultural immersion, field guidance and visual storytelling to preserve rituals, artistry and community life with care and context.
